I'm a UK-based Professional Integrative Counsellor, with additional training in online counselling - a relatively new and creative way of delivering therapy over the internet. I launched Offload Online Counselling in 2008 and have worked in cyberspace ever since. Online counselling avoids many of the difficulties people may have with seeing a counsellor face to face - it can be quite daunting to talk about personal problems with a complete stranger in the room, or maybe it just isn't feasible to attend regular appointments. If writing isn't something you loathe, it can have great therapeutic value - and although online counselling sounds like a contradiction in terms, as you may have seen reported in the media, research has now demonstrated that for many people, a beneficial therapeutic relationship can quickly and successfully develop over the internet. As a humanistic counsellor, I aim to create a warm, supportive and non-judgemental space for my clients to spend some time sorting through their issues in writing with me. I value individual choice, autonomy and the power of acceptance, openness and respect. I'm also trained in psychodynamic theory and CBT and accept the premise that our early relationships shape and mis-shape some of our core beliefs about ourselves and others, which, in turn can have a huge impact on the way we think, feel and behave. I've included feedback on my site from some of my past and ongoing clients, but the best way to find out if we could work together is to try a free online counselling email with me. You can look me up in the UK Therapists directories of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy the OnlineTherapy Institute and the Association for Counselling & Therapy online where I am a clinical and Executive Committee member.
I am accountable to UK law.
